When grinding coffee beans how do I know when They are ground enough and not to much?

We recently ground coffee beans that had remained in our cabinet for possibly two years. When ground, the taste was not good. Is it possible they have lost their flavor?
What’s better for office coffee, one of those airpot coffee makers, or the traditional glass pot?

I’m considering changing the glass pots we currently use in my office to the airpots. I’m told the airpots are cheaper per cup of coffee, and won’t produce burnt coffee. However I also hear the traditional glass pots are MUCH easier to clean. Open to all opinions to help me make this decision.

I’m really confused! People tell me it’s best to freeze your coffee beans suddenly other people is saying the complete opposite. Which one is it really??? Why and why not? By the way if climate is a factor: I’m in a tropical climate!

I picked up a large bag of whole coffee beans by mistake and don’t have a coffee grinder. Has anyone tried grinding then in a Cuisinart?
